Nonprofit GIS Community: The NGC is an informal group of nonprofit GIS users in New Jersey.
We meet to promote communication and mutual assistance among the group's members, and we also maintain
an e-mail listserve called NGCList. If you're with a nonprofit in NJ and you have an interest in GIS,
you are welcome to join us!
Software: For many years, ESRI has generously donated copies of ArcView software to
nonprofits in New Jersey through a program that is administered by the state Office of GIS.
That program has recently been
restructured and is being coordinated by Doug Schleifer (formerly of Upper Raritan Watershed
Association and a co-founder of the GIS Center). For more information about the program,
please visit the NJGIN portal.
2002 NJ Orthophotos: A consortium of state and federal agencies contracted to have a complete set of
orthorectified aerial photos made for New Jersey in 2002. The
NJGIN
web site has more information about how you can download individual tiles from that set
or order DVDs from the U.S. Geological Survey. As a service to the nonprofit community,
we are also distributing copies of the DVDs at a reduced cost. (The images themselves are
in the public domain.) Contact us for more information.
