- A useful Avenue script for ArcView 3.x:
link_ext.ave is a script that Andy put together that allows you to set up
hotlinks to any document
type that is registered with MS windows ... CAD files, word docs, etc. Also
works with web URLs.
Another
Avenue script: view_calcareas.ave
is a script that calculates area, perimeter, acres, and square miles for polygons
in a theme. It has more error checking and other friendly features than the one
that comes as a sample with ArcView 3.2.
- Coming soon: a couple of newer things. As part of a project we were doing with the watershed management
team at Stony Brook, we needed to be able to group the records in a GIS layer into
quantiles (groups with the same number of members in each group). ArcMap and ArcView 3.x
both allow you to do this in the symbology of the map, but we needed to be able to calculate
the values into the attribute table permanently. So we wrote a tool that does that.
Another tool simplifies the process of adding aerial photos
from the 2002 overflight into ArcMap. They both work, but we need to add some error-checking
and documentation and stuff, and then
we will put them up here.
