We have assembled a variety of resources here to aid you in getting up to
speed with GIS.
Data.
There are lots of very good sources for GIS data on the web. We list some on
our links page, but there are a few data sets we've gotten that were
either hard to obtain or required significant processing after we got them. To save others
that trouble, we've assembled them here. (These are all data sets that can be legally
redistributed, they're just hard to find elsewhere.)
Tools. ArcView 3 and ArcGIS are highly customizable,
and there is a wealth of little (and not-so-little) add-ons available on the web at
ESRI's ArcScripts site. In the course of doing
our projects here, we've written a few ourselves, which are here. We've also collected a few useful
utilities written by others.
The library page is a collection of published maps and reports.
We've also got pages of links to other sites
and Frequently Asked Questions about GIS, as well as some of
information of particular interest to nonprofits in New Jersey.
