The technical stuff: To maximize
accessibility, we've done our best to follow
web standards and to design this site without using features specific to any one browser.
The graphic layout does require style sheets. This means you need a browser that's not
super-old and style sheets have to be enabled in your preferences. If you
see this page with all one color in the background, then the style sheets are
not working. We do use some javascript to enhance the appearance of the
pages, but using a browser with javascript disabled should not interfere
with any functionality. Things will just look a little different.
Interactive maps: Accessing the interactive maps is a different story. First of
all, the maps certainly require a graphic browser, and the map viewer depends heavily
on javascript. None of this is anything special: relatively recent versions
of Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, and Internet Explorer are known to work fine. You just
have to have javascript (and images, and stylesheets) enabled in your preferences. The
easiest way to see is just to try it. If you like what you see, then it's working.
